The Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 and the rise of the Ku Klux Klan highlighted widespread white supremacy. Meanwhile, the Harlem Renaissance fostered Black cultural expression, and organizations like the NAACP fought for civil rights. Despite progress, racism remained deeply entrenched.
