The study researched the contagion of happiness within traditional social networks. The question is: Is happiness just as catching in online social networks as it is in real-life social connections? In a separate but related study, Christakis observed 1,700 Facebook profiles. He determined that a person who posts a picture of him or herself smiling on Facebook is more likely to have online friends who are also smiling in their profile pictures. But before we get to grinning profile pictures, let's take a look at what happiness is in the first place. What exactly does it mean to be happy? New brain research has shown that happiness can be measured. There are changes in the brain that can be observed when someone is happy. When someone is happy, one part of the brain is stimulated. Sadness, anger and other emotions are controlled by other portions of the brain. That's why it's possible for someone to feel both sad.
They measure 250 micrometers to a side -- a micrometer is just one-millionth of a meter. Intel explains that the Light Peak chip will have four fibers. Each fiber will be able to carry 10 gigabits of information each second. Why the multiple fibers? Communication across a fiber optic thread only travels in one direction at any given time. With multiple fibers, communication can travel to and from the chip simultaneously. This will help make data transactions happen at a faster rate. Light Peak can carry more data per second than USB 2.0, which has a top speed of 480 megabits per second. Light Peak has bi-directional communication abilities, too, which means data can stream from and to a computer at the same time. USB 2.0 uses a technique called polling, meaning communication can only flow in one direction at a time. USB 3.0 allows for bi-directional communication and increases data transfer speeds to 4.8 gigabits per second -- still less than half the initial speed for Light Peak.|The global market for oil country tubular goods (OCTG) has grown at a notably strong rate over the past few years, mainly because of the surging demand for oil and natural gas coupled with their rising prices which have resulted in increased investment in the energy exploration and production activities. The oil and gas drilling remains strong although there have been some signs of slowing. As a result of the increase in the demand for energy across the globe, especially within the emerging economies, a rise in the number of oil and gas exploration projects is expected and that would boost the demand for the OCTG.
